2025
2025 Flag Day Program and Author's Talk
Saturday, June 14th @ 6:00pm
Francis Scott Key Chapel (Rain or Shine)*
Mount Olivet Cemetery
Frederick, Maryland
Join us June 14th @6pm for a FREE lecture at the Key Chapel for our annual Flag Day Author's Talk. This year, we welcome Rose Neal coming from Oklahoma to talk about her recent book on E.D.E.N. Southworth, the top-selling novelist of the 19th century. More importantly for us, Ms. Southworth told the story of Barbara Fritchie to Massachusetts author John Greenleaf Whittier in 1863, and the rest is history! (Note: Bring a lawn chair or blanket as the event will be held on the ground, across the drive and in front of the chapel. If rain, we will hold within the chapel).
We will have a limited number of Rose's books at the event as she will graciously sign them after her presentation.
*(This is scheduled as an outdoor event, please bring a lawn chair. If it rains, we will go inside the chapel)
