VETERAN MARKERS
The Staff and Board of Directors of Mount Olivet Cemetery proudly salute our military veterans for their service and sacrifice in defense of our country and the freedoms we enjoy today. Many service men and women from the past rest peacefully here in Maryland’s “Cemetery Beautiful.” Mount Olivet holds soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, American Civil War, Spanish American War, the World Wars, Korea, Vietnam and the more recent conflicts in the Middle East.
Monuments and memorials pay true homage to veterans who served our great nation throughout history past and present. One of the cemetery's many veteran interments is Charlotte Louise Berry Winters (November 10, 1897-March 27, 2007). Passing at age 109, Ms. winters holds the distinction of being the last surviving female American veteran of World War I.
