VISITING

PictureSnap a picture at Francis Scott Key's monument/gravesite, and be sure to take the opportunity of singing the "Star-Spangled-Banner!"
Friends and family are always welcome to spend time visiting loved ones in the cemetery during regular hours. Mount Olivet's gates are generally open "by the dawn's early light" and remain so until the "twilight's last gleaming," at least in wintertime as the cemetery closes at 7pm from March-September.  Mausoleum visiting hours are 8:30am-4:45pm, seven days a week.

The cemetery proudly welcomes history and art lovers, family genealogists, photographers and "tombstone tourists" of all ages. We offer visitors interpretive exhibits, a self-guided tour along with occasional guided tours, special events and lecture programs
(check our schedule of events). Eight miles of paved roadway criss-cross the spacious cemetery grounds, allowing for recreational usage by walkers, runners and cyclists conducting themselves in a reverent and respectable manner.

Cemetery Hours of Operation:
7:00 am to sunset (Oct-Feb)    General cemetery grounds
7:00 am to 7:00pm (March-Sept)

8:30 am-4:50 pm     Mausoleum buildings

Office Hours of Operation:
8:30am-4:45pm   Monday-Friday
Saturday mornings by Appointment Only!
