"Friends of Mount Olivet"

Our “Friends” group sponsors activities designed to generate awareness, enthusiasm and fundraising opportunities through engaging and entertaining educational programs, special events and anniversary commemorations. Stewardship for the future of this hallowed ground is paramount, as we will continue to raise funds for signature reparation projects and increase our documented record through additional historical and genealogical research and documentation.

Our History

Information kiosks with interment locations are available to the public. These can be found at the front of the cemetery to the right of the Francis Scott Key Monument and within the Mausoleum Complex.* Note that computer access at the Mausoleum Office is only available during regular business hours.

Mount Olivet Cemetery proudly welcome tourists and family historians intent on exploring the grounds, varied grave monuments and most importantly, the 40,000+ magnificent stories of "lives once lived."

A self-guided tour is available, and wayside interpretive panels assist in presenting background on the cemetery and notable individuals residing within. Special history walking tours of the cemetery are offered as well as lecture presentations

Many customers prefer to use our two "on-grounds" chapel spaces for holding memorial services. located near the front of the cemetery, the Francis Scott Key Memorial Chapel offers a unique  traditional and historic option.
