World War I Memorial Gazebo Dedication at
Mount Olivet Cemetery
Saturday, October 29th @ 11am
Circle are between Areas T, U and S
Mount Olivet Cemetery
Frederick, Maryland
Lat year we dedicated our "Never Forget" Garden as a way to memorialize unknown soldiers and MIA's. We discussed the opportunity to build a special memorial on site in the form of a gazebo, as one stood on this very site from 1915 through the 1950s. Join us for a program to dedicate this special new feature of Mount Olivet which will pay respect and memory to the over 600 WWI vets buried throughout the cemetery.
So come out and see it for yourself as we will be thanking the Delaplaine Foundation and several others who have contributed funds to make this project a reality. We continue to fundraise for a final phase in which we want to produce table-top interpretive markers to tell stories about the Kiosk, and more importantly, the men and women we honor here who are buried throughout Mount Olivet. Memorial pages for these individuals can be found on our sister site MountOlivetVets.com.
Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
